Stay. Quit. Pivot. Stop circling.
Before you make the move, score the options honestly.
The Stay, Quit, Pivot Filter helps you compare your real career options before you quit, stay too long, go back to school, or make a panic pivot.
Compare your actual options side by side.
Check income and practical feasibility first. Then compare how each option fits your energy, identity, and strengths.
See which option has the strongest current evidence.

Printable or fillable. Start with the career options you are actually considering.
If your career decision keeps looping, start here.
Stay where you are. Change jobs. Pivot fields. Go back to school. Start the business. Wait until things calm down. That is not clarity. That is the same decision, reopened every week.
This is for you if…
- You are tired of thinking about the same career decision.
- You have more than one realistic option and no clean way to compare them.
- You are not sure whether your hesitation is wisdom or fear.
- You want a practical next step instead of another inspirational pep talk.
- You keep almost deciding, then reopening the whole question again.
This helps you stop doing this…
Researching every option until your brain turns into browser soup.
Calling it “being responsible” when you are really avoiding the moment of choice.
Asking ten more people what they think when you already know their answers will just add more noise.
What the filter helps you measure
The Filter starts with two practical checks: income and feasibility. Each option is marked Meets, Needs information, or Does not meet. Energy, identity, and strengths then produce a fit score out of 15. Needs information is not a fail and not a green light. You still score the fit, but the option becomes a fact to get or a small test before any full move. A high fit score does not override a financial requirement or a material fact you do not have yet.
Practical check. Can this option meet the financial needs you identified?
Practical check. Can you realistically meet its requirements?
Fit score, 1 to 5. How does the everyday work fit your energy?
Fit score, 1 to 5. How well does this direction fit who you are and what matters to you?
Fit score, 1 to 5. How well does it use your strengths?
Not scored. Note what is in the way: a real obstacle, a missing fact, or fear. Then note your gut response. Both show what needs attention or investigation. Neither adds points to the fit score.
How it works
No personality type. No quiz result. No vague “follow your dreams” speech. Just your actual options, evaluated honestly.
Name the actual options
Write down the paths you are actually considering: stay, change jobs, pivot fields, go back to school, or build something on the side. Name the specific version, like “Pivot: instructional design,” not just “Pivot.”
Check practical requirements and compare fit
Mark income and feasibility first. Score energy, identity, and strengths for every option that has not failed a check. Concerns and gut response get noted, not scored.
Choose one responsible next step
The highest fit score is a signal, not a command. It does not override your income requirement or a missing fact that could change the decision. Write one next step and the date you will do it.
What you get
- The Stay, Quit, Pivot scoring grid.
- A simple interpretation guide.
- A next-step commitment page.
- A clearer way to compare your real career options.
What this is not
- A personality quiz.
- A magic answer generator.
- A permission slip to quit your job tomorrow.
- A fluffy worksheet pretending to be a plan.
Stop carrying the same open career decision.
Before you quit, enroll, pivot, or spend another year circling the same choice, run your options through the filter.
